Lightweight hot key configuration program
If you shun the mouse or trackpad, preferring instead to keep you fingers hovering over the keyboard, you'll be pleased to know that with HoeKey, you can configure a wide range of hot key commands for Windows.
The commands are mostly two or three key combinations, and HoeKey comes with a range of ready made commands giving you keyboard power to open notepad, run your browser, open explorer, set windows to be transparent and on top and more. The application is really light on resources, so there's no need to worry about clogging up your processor.
The downside of HoeKey is that configuration is a little difficult. It does come with a long list of example commands you can enter into the configuration file to execute various tasks, but it's not a really user friendly experience. Of course, people who want extensive hot key commands are not likely to be scared off by technical stuff, but it's worth bearing in mind that this is not an easy application to configure. As it's portable, if you use it a lot, carrying on a USB drive will allow you have the same hot key commands whatever PC you're using.
For the technically knowledgeable, HoeKey can greatly extend hot key commands, it's just a little over complex!
